Addendum to the broken window
The broken window thing is just too odd to be ignored. How could that have happened? And I’m completely convinced that somebody’s going to own up to it… in twenty years. It’s going to be one of those things that the kids tell me when they’re about to graduate from college…. and I’ll be stewing about it until then.

I once trimmed the shag carpet in our living room with scissors. I thought it would regrow, like hair, and that’s what my Mom did with the vaccuum cleaner, was trim the carpet. But it never grew back. Eek!
And I never ‘fessed up, until about 15 years later when I told mom about it. She started laughing and said she had always wondered why that bit of carpet was so short.
That was when I then also confessed to taking the car lighter and burning holes in the leather seats of my mom’s favorite little 60’s convertible Renault when I was about 7 years old. That one came back to bite me in the ass, literally, as I inherited that car when I was in college and the horsehair that came out of the seats I ruined ITCHED! We decided it would be better to not tell Dad about that one.
