Don’t cry for me, I’ve been very busy.

Short list?
Been doing a lot of cooking with my dad, HE IS THE ANAL RETENTIVE CHEF! We made pies and froze some extras (how’s that for planning ahead, Moon?) and get this, we
a. pre cooked them for precisely 25 minutes
b. put fancy pie edge protectors on the crusts
c. cooled them
d. wrapped them in plastic
e. by “wrapping”, I mean each pie got the same measured amount of saran wrap. Pie was placed in the middle, plastic was folded over from the left first, then right….
f. labeled the plastic
g. wrapped them in foil
h. folded the foil with the precision of a master gem cutter - if you thought the plastic was excessive, bah!
i. labeled the foil
j. “labeling” means, exact name of item and exact date
Camp Granny’s been in full swing. My kids have been making scrap books, cupcakes, riding miniature horses… if they weren’t haven’t so much fun I’d be jealous. The fishing pond was still quite a mess, it belongs to a neighbor, an old, on oxygen and in his late 70’s neighbor. Can’t really fault the poor guy for still have trees all over it from Rita. Anyhoo, my Uncle Albert is visiting from Kentucky and he, my mother and me played with weapons of grass and tree destruction for hours yesterday.
But did we rest after that? Hell no, came in and made dinner for 15 people. Gumbo no less.

So what kind of fancy pie-edge protectors? I admit to letting mine burn at times, as I’m too lazy/busy to mess with the foil.
Right plastic fold before left, hmm? Does he perchance measure the distance between hangers in the closet? An old friend’s mom used to do that.

OMG! Ol’ Pops has become quite the baker. LOL Tell him that I am TOTALLY impressed AND why didn’t he ever share his baking knowledge when we were younger. If he did, maybe we would have stayed out of his alcohol in the cabinet. YEAH RIGHT!
Ummmm…..will those pies still be good in about 2 or so years???? LOL Tell him when I move back to the states, I want one of those fancy dancy pies.

I am impressed…retentive or not…partially baked pie in the freezer is a treat.. Glad ya’all are having fun. Will you be homw for your bday?
